Cartoon strips - plot out events, finish the story with alternative endings

Being a team of detectives (Stallard, 2002) - how could we search for clues as to what is happening here?

Parent as co-therapist - mum / dad / teacher as part of the army of soldiers against the enemy (problem)

Systemic / Family

Change balloons (a solution-focussed approach) - what is the goal? who can help to get there? what could each person start, stop, or keep doing to help?

Externalising (White & Epston, 1990) - the problem as separate from the person. Client to give the problem a name. What influence does (name) have on you / your relationships? "What happened to the family when (problem) came to visit?"

Internalised other interviewing (Burnham, 2000) - relational empathy - i.e. interview the mother in the mind of the child.
